Hey there! I'm Amy Moret.

I live in Winston Salem, North Carolina. I am originally from New Jersey but I moved to North Carolina when I was a teenager. I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in apparel design at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I am a Scorpio meaning that I am strong, passionate, loyal, and driven.

Dreams...

I dream of supporting myself by designing clothes! Somedays, I find myself making something extremely unforgettable and elaborate, but on other days I want to make something more simple and shape-based which is my everyday style. I am trying to figure out a perfect middle ground so that I can still stay true to myself and my dreams. One day, I would love to produce a line or be a part of a brand that has a similar vision. Also, I would be lying if I said I don't dream of becoming the woman who  buys her forks from Anthropologie.

"I have always loved a loud teal! My favorite is that one that can be seen in rust on copper. I don’t usually see it paired well with other colors so I don't usually wear it or even have the ability to find the specific shade. I think the color just proves the fact that I love a surprise when it comes to color in color relationships, specifically in textiles and patterns."

Daily life...

I’ve never been a routine girl, but I always start my day with coffee. I consider a day to be great if I have gone running and written in my journal or made art. I find that I am constantly rearranging my furniture even if I don't have the time. I live by the motto “gotta keep your space IG ready!". I think it does something mentally for me that allows me to focus when I do sit down to work.

On confidence...

My mother has always painted, so I have been exposed to art and have been encouraged to pursue it from a young age. I did not always plan to study fashion; I switched majors sporadically during college from social science to apparel product design. With the degree came internships with designers, the chance to study pattern design in Wales, and now currently a job where I have the joy to teach children how to sew! I've always looked to Grace Coddington as inspiration, the art editor of Vogue. She has amazing taste along with the confidence to make strange choices that always seem to work out. Every fashion show, internship, and even the internet has given me the confidence to call myself a designer.
